This Chicago Tribune article talks about the extensive Palos Forest Preserve area, located just southwest of the city. Dot made the trip (roughly 12 miles) out that way a couple of times during 1945-46. Once to Maple Lake on
Mother's Day, 1945. Another visit was in March of '45 for a
hayride at Walter's Barn, with Jim Parks.
Good to hear from you again. I'm really curious any updates on what became of Dot's friends? It would be nice to see how they look like now

ReplyDeleteThanks. I wish I had some updates or photos of Dot's friends. "Most Wanted" would be Herb Martin. But inquiries even to those I made to the military records center have proven futile. I keep trying tho.
