Dot's Diary Blog: Stories and background information related to Dorothy's 1945-46 personal diaries. Dot, my mother, was 17 in 1945, living in the Englewood neighborhood on the south side of Chicago.
Dot's diary entries are accompanied by pictures from her scrapbook and, in some cases, by recollections from her younger sister Louise (“Sis”), and by the news of the day. I've also added comments of my own.
Hi! I just had to comment cause I was raised in Englewood and graduated from Englewood High school in 1947. I was 17 years old. Sure would like to be in touch with Sis or anyone else from that era. My son just told me about this site and it is so exciting!
