A “Travel Talks” short released by MGM. Although a few years after Dot's Diary, it's likely that not too much had changed yet. For example, Potter Palmer's “Castle” is highlighted, even tho its future was grim back in 1945-46.
Dot's Diary Blog: Stories and background information related to Dorothy's 1945-46 personal diaries. Dot, my mother, was 17 in 1945, living in the Englewood neighborhood on the south side of Chicago.
Dot's diary entries are accompanied by pictures from her scrapbook and, in some cases, by recollections from her younger sister Louise (“Sis”), and by the news of the day. I've also added comments of my own.
